What does U.F.F. look for in a hero?

The Shack Keeper is ALIVE!!!!! ^_~

Sorry for not posting last week. Real life work has been getting the better of me, and from the looks of it will remain tough for the next 3 months or so. But finally able to get back to working on the game now that I am getting used to the busier schedule. The Shack keeper is only human.

I previously stated the 10 level builds are complete. I have decided the secret boss won't have her own full dungeon, it will be more fun get straight to her lair/secret boss. I feel like getting straight to the meat of it makes sense for an added extra addition that's supposed to be fun.

Before going there I decided to get away from sprites and pure block pixels (it's a welcome change of pace), and try my hand at character face sets for the game. starting with our main character, "Guy".

What does U.F.F. look for in a hero?

Like-able but Forget-able. Good looking but not too Good looking. Happy go lucky with a fair amount of pessimism and more than a fair helping of perversion when the time calls for it.

My Personal feel is, since this is a role playing game (RPG), That other characters/elements should stand out over our hero who the player will take the role of.

"Guy" Main Character for U.F.F.

Up until now we only have seen guy as a sprite so it's a bit of good fun to finally see him in more detail, and since it's been 2 weeks since my last post I figured noting less then showing of his first full faceset, for my one loyal fan.

"Guy" Faceset 1 for U.F.F.

still debating weather or not to show off a profile face for a girl or 2 in the next post. since I will be up to my arms in face sets by next weekend, probably will, with little information given on them at this point.

Have a Great Sunday H-Gamers and Cheers,

The Shack Keeper

"LEVEL 10" Build Complete (ALIEN MISTRESS)

A days late Happy fathers day to all you H-Gamers out there. I had a pretty awful day yesterday (car broke down again), but got up early today spent the morning fixing the car and my wife treated me to a steak lunch with all you can drink beer!!!! Nomi-Hodai people!!!!

The Shack Keeper loves fathers day.

As the blog post title confirms. Our level 10, Final level build is complete! I have to admit there were a few scrap it a redo this tile/piece from scratch moments, but I couldn't be happier with the final result.  I do need to go back and build one or two more props for this level and level 9, but the progress is huge.

Here's our U.F.F.taste of the week: (ALIEN MISTRESS FINAL BOSS LEVEL)

"GUY AT THE START OF LEVEL 10"

You can immediately notice that there is color to this level, not showing up in any of the other previous levels. Totally intentional and was the plan from the start it plays off the final logo design for the game. Our Alien Mistress seems to be hording all the color, color-hog.

There is still another area of the game I need to tackle that would be our secret boss level, already worked out a number of ideas to get there and the location of the entrance, but not yet sure if I should make a full on dungeon. Only Time will tell.

Have a great week everyone!

Cheers,
The Shack Keeper

The Right Kind of Weekend

Good Afternoon to all you H-Game fans Out there!

Hoping that everyone is enjoying this Saturday.

The goal by the end of tomorrow is to have the final level built! it's a tall order considering it should feel special, which means many new parts will have to be built.  Lets not let that get in our way, "U.F.F. Level 10 your a GO!"

I am happy to report I finally got paid yesterday, the fridge is packed with groceries, and the The Shack is filled with a cool breeze. I could take the credit by saying I researched on you-tube and pulled off a DIY after waiting for the parts in the mail, or we could take the fun road and just say: "Good Things happen when the melon girl stops by"

Keeping you posted,
The Shack Keeper

Sweating In The Shack

It's Hot, it's raining and and there is no air conditioning.

This combined with a plague of one small emergency, after another just makes me want to start my work week and get to a real break next weekend.

First the air con breaks down, then the shack keepers vehicle breaks down (it ended up being minor), I had to deal with a double accidental charge on the debit card that would have made a real mess of my auto rent payment, and of course my daily grind job making the decision to change the pay period (across the whole company) so I am heading into week three without a pay check, and finally my one, and only, credit card was cancelled by accident by my father (who lives in another state).
Which finally brings us to the end of series of accidental, unintended misfortunes. all within a 48 hour period.

I have never believed in real magic, or gods, but bad luck and curses, have followed the shack keeper his whole life and apparently still do. Good thing I'm an optimist.

Such is life, sweating in the shack, and working on the game on the 1st of Jun.

The Good News: The "Level 9" build  is 90 % complete. I still need to make one more specialized piece and then can call it a day on this sub master/enforcer level. a.k.a Chu-Pa

Till next week,
