Animating at The Shack

Good evening and welcome to the Shack on the best of nights,

By best I mean it's Friday night. It's hard to get further away from Monday morning than right now.

The Shack Keeper has to Leave the shack int he morning and do a half days grind on Saturday, with that said I should be able to complete level 4's elements by tomorrow night, and that leaves Sunday open for building level 5 if all goes smooth.

I had a bit of time after getting home today and starting thinking about things I would like to see in U.F.F. not the least of which being a very short animation intro in the beginning. When it comes to the game I am only one person, and along with this being my first game, there's alot of time that's tough to account for do to stopping and learning and when needed practicing. With that said, could I even pull off the animation to a level that I would be satisfied with? If i ended up half ass-ing it, THEN it just wouldn't be worth the time or trouble.

Luckily! our very own Melon Girl "spokes model for the Melon Shack" was more than happy to do a test run with me.

Melon Girl Test Run

(This has 6 frames all of which were drawn using manga studio)

  • Melon girl Test Run will be colored in eventually (Even I want to see that micro bikini colored in :P)
  • I would like to add the tweens to double the amount of frames,  but since this isn't needed for the game, it's very time consuming, and was a test for fun, it's best to stop here

I haven't animated anything since my school days and I took only one class in basic animation but the test leads me to believe it's possible. Don't put your money down on this intro happening though. Not until all levels are, designed built, and events have been programmed/scripted in. (every step of which is a first for the shack keeper)

There are 3 things we need to keep in mind:

  1. -The minimum the Game needs to function and be considered done
  2. -What I would like to do
  3. -What I can do given my knowledge and the time-frame
I'm still shooting for that Dec. 2014 release.

Till Next Weekend
Cheers,

U.F.F CONCEPT LOGO - UNIDENTIFIED FLYING FEMALE

Good Evening on this fine Easter Sunday,

Not that I am religious in the least, but I enjoy candy and colored eggs as much as the next Shack Keeper.

I'm not looking to have a debate on religion at all but I do believe religion does a better job at dividing people than bringing them together:  The Shack Keeper finds his peace in tending to the melons.

Though I did lose about two weeks of game development I am pleased the report the trip to see "Grandpa Shack keeper" (grandpa to my mini keeper in waiting)  was not in vain, and He should make a full recovery even after one more hump of a pacemaker, which will be installed at the end of this month.

-I had some time today before returning to the daily grind tomorrow and instead of picking up in level 4 where I left off, I decided to give the U.F.F. LOGO  a try. I am very happy with the final result, my only concern is whether or not this will be mistaken as a girls game given the fact I went with pink, and not as an H-Game. But I think the colors definitely make it stand out and I could even see girls sporting a pink tee-shirt such as this.

Final logo concept design for U.F.F.

I also had a little time last night to update my hyperlink button for the Melon Shack with one of my own design, not a large change here:

Continue to enjoy the night everyone, and I look forward to continuing with the game.

until next weekend

Away from the Shack....

Sorry for no posting this past weekend, But as previously stated I'm currently away from the Melon Shack.

The good news by the 26th all will be back to routine with the U.F.F. and creating the Game. the Bad news is until then everything is up in the air.

The Shack keeper feels he should talk about something and since new Game info is a no go lets take a look at one of my all time favorite hentai from way back when.

 "F3 Frantic, Frustrated and Female"

It's a classic story of a girl who is cursed and can not climax no matter how much is done to her. Surround her with other hot girls who are sex deprived, or sex crazed,  and your bound to have a a number of tales to tell. The rules of there world tend to let allow alot in the way of the paranormal, which is what I suspect is the cause of the Main characters rare condition. There are only 3 episodes total * The Shack Keeper was very disappointed when no new videos were released.  But it doesn't change the fact: If you love good Adult animation AV,  this is not one you'll want to let slip by.

"F3" A classic in Hentai.

P.S. My Dad is doing fine after the surgery.

Cheers,

Level 2 Complete! Level 3 Complete!? Level 4 Almost!

It's a Wonderful Friday!

The Shack Keeper is not sure what he added to the coffee last weekend but levels 2,3 are done!, level 4 is more than half there! Can you say ahead of schedule? Trying not to Jinx myself but it feels pretty good.

Currently trying to balance out the dungeons growing in size at a fair rate. Smaller to more complex and large as the game progresses. I am sure I will have to make some changes once events are programmed, along with common battle encounters and I can test levels to see if Guy is leveling up at the right rate.
Even with a large assortment of tiles to play with usually I will end up choosing ones that need to be tweaked here and there. In the end the level design and special prop additions couldn't be going smoother, truth be told, it's less about whats in the coffee, and more to do with how much time was spent on creating bits and pieces for levels along with 70+ tiles during the first 2 months of U.F.F. creation.

For this weeks U.F.F. Taste:
Here's a look at a piece from each new level:

With that said Once last Monday hit all Hell broke loose. The Father of The Shack Keeper Had a heart attack and ended up in the Hospital. I'll spare you the details but there wasn't much sleeping happening this week. Until finally last night. Looks like he is going to make a full recovery.
Currently preparations are in progress to make the long journey from the Melon Shack to see him along with my Mini Shack Keeper, He needs his Grandpa.

With the trip taking place next weekend it's hard to predict where we will be with the game, but I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
The Shack Keeper
